Job summary

Volvo Penta is seeking a qualified engineer to help transform our electromobility architecture. You will collaborate with the battery system engineering team and cross-functional colleagues to specify voltage requirements and explore multi-voltage designs for future Volvo Penta architectures.

The role emphasizes cost analysis and aftermarket service insights, with 2-3 days per week at the Gothenburg office. English fluency is required; Swedish is a plus.

What You Will Do

At Volvo Penta you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will:

Activities

• Investigate and define requirements for voltage levels (and other potentially relevant requirements) in Volvo Penta architecture
• Study and identify potential designs for achieving required multi voltage input/output from battery (New designs could be proposed but is not necessarily expected)
• Perform cost analysis of existing design vs integrated design for Volvo Penta architecture
• Perform aftermarket service analysis (reliability, cost of repair) for integrated solution vs existing design

Your future team

You will primarily work together with battery system engineering team at Volvo Penta electromobility department, however, we expect that you will have a lot of cross functional interactions during your work here.

Who are you?

• Experience from relevant studies in manufacturing engineering, industrial design, product development, electromechanical engineering or similar
• Potential previous experience with electromobility, battery system design or manufacturing
• Fluent English and optionally Swedish could be beneficial
• Ability to work at Volvo Penta office in Gothenburg 2-3 days per week
• High level of personal drive and enthusiasm to problem solve
