Job summary

ABB in Malmö is seeking a Test Lead to lead the PIT team of 6-7 engineers and drive automated testing across embedded controllers and backend services. You will define test strategy, expand the PIT framework, ensure quality across redundancy, cybersecurity, safety and performance, and collaborate with Process Control Platform R&D teams.

The role requires hands-on testing, experience with containerized environments, CI/CD, and strong communication in Swedish and English.

This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Your role and responsibilitiesLead and develop the PIT (Product Integration Test) team, currently consisting of 6-7 engineers and expected to grow.Drive the development of automated test solutions for both embedded controllers and engineering components.Oversee testing of backend services, advanced engineering tools and editors, communication layers, software libraries, and complex platform functionality.Ensure quality and coverage for critical areas such as redundancy, hot swap capabilities, cybersecurity, safety, performance, and system stability.Lead the continued development of the PIT test framework, a platform developed in Malmö and intended for global use across ABB.Report test progress, quality metrics, and overall test status to development projects and stakeholders.Plan and coordinate test activities within the team while acting as Scrum Master.Define, implement, and continuously improve the test strategy and test processes.Collaborate closely with other testing organizations and development teams within Process Control Platform R&D to ensure a consistent quality approach.Qualifications for the roleProven experience as a Test Lead or in a similar test leadership role within software and hardware development.Experience testing physical products and systems in complex technical environments.A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.Hands-on experience with automated testing and test frameworks.Strong knowledge of containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps.Experience with scripting and basic software development.Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English.More about usWe develop today's and tomorrow's world-leading DCS (Distributed Control System) for process industries all over the world.
