Job description

Are you ready to shape the future of mining equipment systems in a rapidly evolving industry? Join our dynamic team as a System Engineer and play a crucial role in optimizing the performance, reliability, and efficiency of the complete machine system integrated into our products.

At Epiroc, innovation is at the core of everything we do. Our vision is clear: we aim to accelerate the transformation of mining towards a greener and more sustainable industry. In this role, you’ll get the opportunity to work with state‑of‑the‑art mobile machines, electric drivetrains, and control systems that are moving towards higher degrees of automation and sophistication.

Your mission

Your mission as a system engineer is to develop and adapt our machine systems in terms of hardware, system architecture, and functionality to fulfill requirements regarding e.g., performance, availability, and safety. Drive concept development from ideation through requirements decomposition and specification, including trade‑off studies, to design, implement, and execute verification and validation of the technical solution, ensuring an efficient and traceable end‑to‑end development loop.

You will primarily work in project form with new product development projects, product maintenance, technology development, and customer orders. You will have close contact with other departments in Örebro, for example service, purchasing and marketing, as well as contact with customers and suppliers around the world. Furthermore, you will contribute to building modularised solutions, process improvement, and team competence assets.

Your profile

You have a university degree in a relevant area and professional experience within system engineering or a highly qualified engineering background. You are experienced in bringing ideas from concept to serial production and are familiar with requirement‑management tools such as Doors, Polarion, or similar. You have proven experience in modularization and systems engineering practices such as MBSE (Model‑Based System Engineering) and hands‑on experience with MATLAB tools and Hopsan. You also have a solid understanding of software, including control systems and system architectures, as well as CAN communication protocols (J1939, CAN Open). Knowledge of software development, electrical systems, CAD, simulation, and other software tools are considered a plus. You are self‑propelled, responsible, and plan your work effectively to meet deadlines with quality. You have a structured and analytical approach, enjoy combining theory and practice, and strive to deliver outcomes for our customers’ satisfaction. You also have strong interpersonal skills, enjoy teamwork, and thrive in a collaborative environment where communication is key. Technical project‑management experience or R&D leadership experience is a plus. As your work includes many local and global contacts, fluent English (verbal and written) and an understanding of Swedish are required.

You will be part of a group of skilled and helpful colleagues who live by our core values: Collaboration, Commitment, and Innovation. We work in a global environment with 120 different nationalities! In addition to a culture that balances development with work‑life balance, we take pride in:
