We are now looking to appoint a summer worker fortheLarge ScaleStructuresgroup in theScienceDivision withinThermal Characterization of Sample Holder for Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) Experiments.

TheLarge Scales Structuresgroupis responsible forkey instruments, including ESTIA, FREIA,LoKI,NMXand SKADI, providing the infrastructure needed to support a wide range of experimental techniques and studies within theLarge ScaleStructures community. By ensuring these instrumentsoperatesafely and reliably, LSS enables scientists to investigate complex materials, perform advanced materials characterization, and study fundamental structural phenomena at unprecedented scales.

AsaLoKIsummer worker your maintaskswillbe to characterize the thermal transfer of the linear and rotational sample holder used in Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) experiments.

About you

A suitable background for thispositionwould be:

• Stronginterestin STEMfields
• Goodrecord-keeping,documentation, andlabnotebookskills
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
• Minimum age 18 years.

The ideal candidate has an education in STEM, either at the high school/gymnasium level or pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and experience working in a lab-based environment. They have a strong interest in science and engineering and enjoy hands‑on work and practical problem-solving. Theydemonstrategood record‑keeping, documentation, and lab notebook skills. They enjoy communicating and collaborating with a variety of people in an international environment. The candidate is proactive, able to take initiative, and not afraid to ask questions.

Durationandlocation

This is asummer workposition of2months/8weeks.

Planned start date is1June,2026or per agreement.
