Job summary

Lyten is seeking a Staff Engineer of Material Development to lead advanced evaluation of Li battery cells and materials. This cross-functional role sits between Senior and Principal levels and focuses on developing evaluation methodologies and translating material insights into product and process improvements.

You will mentor engineers, drive R&D programs, and contribute to technology roadmaps while staying current with Li battery tech and industry standards to strengthen Lyten’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• BSc or higher degrees in Chemical/Material/Electrical Engineering and Chemistry.
• Significant experience in Li battery materials evaluation, testing, or electrochemical analysis.
• Preferably 8+ years industrial experience.
• Demonstrated depth in material characterization, data analysis, and performance diagnostics.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives with minimal supervision and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced evaluation and analysis of Li battery cells and materials to identify performance drivers.
• Develop and standardize test methods, analytical frameworks, and diagnostic procedures.
• Provide technical leadership on material behavior, degradation mechanisms, and process interactions.
• Coordinate cross-functional technical discussions and guide decision-making on material selection and validation.
• Mentor and support the development of engineers in testing methodology and data interpretation.
• Review and validate technical reports and experiments for accuracy.
• Contribute to technology roadmap development and strategic R&D planning.
• Represent the team in cross-departmental reviews and external collaborations.
