Spotify AB is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to tackle complex, high‑impact problems by combining strategic thinking with hands‑on execution. Based in Stockholm or London, we provide flexibility to work from home with some in‑person meetings.

You will lead analyses across user behavior and content data, shaping product decisions and strategy. The role requires strong statistics, evaluation design, and experience building self-serve analytics tools for cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong statistics foundation and experience designing evaluation methods.
• Experience building metrics and reporting systems for product or policy decisions.
• Built self-serve analytics tools or data agents that enable others to answer questions effectively.
• Proficient in SQL and Python; DBT or similar tools for building reliable datasets.
• Experience with content classification, taxonomy, safety, or related domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead analyses across user behavior and content data to shape product and strategy decisions.
• Shape evaluation of content classification and taxonomy, with a focus on safety.
• Design evaluation frameworks, baselines, metrics, and annotation approaches.
• Build scalable analytical foundations, including metrics, dashboards, and self‑serve analysis capabilities.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations leadership to shape priorities and data‑driven strategy.
• Raise the analytical bar through mentorship and methodological leadership.
