Job summary

LEIA Health in Stockholm seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the team and help evolve the technology behind LEIA Health. You will work across the platform in TypeScript and Kotlin, building new capabilities and improving existing systems while ensuring reliability and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience building and running backend services in production, with a strong focus on correctness, reliability, and maintainability.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational data modelling.
• Cloud experience and familiarity with infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
• Ability to contribute to a shared frontend codebase with TypeScript and React when needed.

• Own services end to end: design, build, deploy, monitor, and improve them.
• Build and evolve our platform using AI with tools like TypeScript, Kotlin, Postgres, Docker, Terraform.
• Design clear APIs, reliable integrations, and well-structured data models.
• Make changes across the stack, including customer-facing features when needed.
• Own the infrastructure your services run on and participate in on-call.
• Help the team make sound technical decisions through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

Senior Software Engineer — LEIA Health

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the LEIA Team in Stockholm. You'll help build and evolve the technology behind LEIA Health, working in short iterations where your changes bring real value to the people using our products.

You’ll work across our platform in TypeScript and Kotlin, helping shape our technical direction and turning it into reliable, maintainable software. That means building new capabilities, improving existing systems, and making thoughtful decisions about how our platform grows.

We're a collaborative team that owns services end to end, from AI, domain models to infrastructure, including deployment, monitoring, and scaling. You'll work closely with Product, Design, and fellow engineers to take ideas from early discussions into production. AI is part of our daily toolchain, which puts more weight on judgement: we read as much code as we write.

Your key responsibilities

• Own services end to end: design, build, deploy, monitor, and improve them.
• Build and evolve our platform using AI with tools like TypeScript, Kotlin, Postgres, Docker Terraform. contributing to both technical direction and implementation.
• Design clear APIs, reliable integrations, and well-structured data models.
• Make changes across the stack, including customer-facing features when needed.
• Own the infrastructure your services run on and participate in on-call.
• Help the team make sound technical decisions through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and close collaboration.

Requirements

• Several years of experience building and running backend services in production, with a strong focus on correctness, reliability, and maintainability.
• Strong skills in TypeScript, and a willingness to become productive in other languages using the right tools for the right problems.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational data modelling.
• Cloud experience and confidence owning infrastructure, with familiarity with tools such as Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
• Enough TypeScript and React to contribute to a shared frontend codebase, or a real interest in learning.
• Comfort working through ambiguity, making pragmatic trade-offs, and taking responsibility for outcomes.
• An interest in building thoughtful, dependable technology in health.

It would also be great if you have

• Evolved or migrated production systems while keeping them reliable for existing users.
• Worked with sensitive personal data and built systems with privacy and security in mind.
• Experience building event-driven services using messaging systems.
• Practical experience using AI model/agents in production, with sound judgement about when to rely on them and how to harness the technology.
• Experience in a small team where ownership spans application code, infrastructure, compliance and the user experience.
