Are you an inspiring leader who enjoys building high-performing teams? Are you passionate about shaping the future of safe, resilient and sustainable rail infrastructure? Do you thrive in an environment where people development, business growth and technical excellence go hand in hand?

If this sounds like you, or you're curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join Ramboll as our new Spearhead Unit Manager for Safety & Advisory Sweden as part of our Global rail organisation and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new role

As our new Spearhead Unit Manager, you will lead and develop our Safety & Advisory business in Sweden, working closely with colleagues across the Nordics and internationally. Safety & Advisory Sweden covers a wide range of disciplines, including rail safety, project management, capacity and railway planning analysis, railway studies, and rail simulation and modelling. The unit is distributed across Ramboll offices in Malmö, Stockholm, Göteborg, Halmstad and Västerås, with some travel within Sweden expected. From September, a Team Lead based in Malmö will support the day-to-day management and development of a team of five people. You will be part of Ramboll's Transport market and the global Rail organisation, where specialists across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany and the UK collaborate, share expertise and work across borders to develop disciplines and deliver innovative solutions for clients.

This is a strategic leadership role where you will combine people leadership, business development, project delivery and operational excellence to strengthen Ramboll's Safety & Advisory offering in Sweden. You will create an engaging and inclusive culture where people can grow, collaborate and perform at their best, while working with clients, industry stakeholders and colleagues across our international Rail organisation to identify new opportunities, build long-term partnerships and shape the future direction of the business. Alongside leading the successful delivery of complex rail projects, you will ensure the unit achieves its commercial objectives, maintains technical excellence and continues to develop capabilities across areas such as safety management, project management, and capacity and simulation analysis. This is a unique opportunity to develop both people and business while contributing to safer and more sustainable rail transport across Sweden and beyond.

Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of technical specialists, creating a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing culture that supports professional growth and knowledge sharing in Sweden.
  • Drive the strategic growth of the Safety & Advisory business in Sweden by developing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and expanding Ramboll's market presence.
  • Take responsibility for the operational and financial performance of the unit, including resource planning, utilisation, budget ownership and commercial success.
  • Oversee and participate in the successful delivery of safety and advisory projects, ensuring high technical quality, strong client satisfaction and effective risk management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Sweden and Ramboll's international Rail network, contributing to an international leadership group and supporting the development of disciplines and expertise across countries through work sharing, knowledge exchange and a coordinated global approach. The role involves working closely with colleagues across countries and with your manager in Denmark, with some international travel expected as well as within Sweden.
About You
  • Proven experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams within engineering consultancy, infrastructure, transport or another regulated technical environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with business development, client relationship management and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.
  • Experience managing departmental or project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and resource planning.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, commercial management and stakeholder engagement within complex technical environments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire others, influence decision-making and build trusted relationships.
  • Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.
