Job summary

ECAPS AB, a Swedish propulsion company, seeks a Structural/ Thermal Analyst to drive simulation-driven design of propulsion systems and spacecraft hardware. The role covers structural and thermal analyses across development stages and collaboration with design, manufacturing, testing, and systems engineering.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with hands-on experience in FEM/FEA and software such as Siemens Simcenter, ANSYS, and Abaqus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in finite element analysis for structural and/or thermal applications.
• Strong understanding of mechanics and heat transfer.
• Experience with Siemens Simcenter, ANSYS, Abaqus or equivalent.
• Experience in the space industry and correlating simulations with test results.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and thermal analyses of spacecraft and propulsion hardware.
• Develop and improve simulation models using FEM and related methods.
• Support design and development activities through simulation-driven engineering.
• Conduct strength, stiffness, vibration, buckling, and thermal stress analyses.
• Predict temperatures, gradients, and thermal flux under operating conditions.
• Correlate simulations with test data and support validation.
• Support qualification, acceptance, and development testing.
• Collaborate with design engineers to optimize components and assemblies.
• Prepare technical reports and design recommendations.
• Contribute to development and improvement of analysis methods and tools.
