Job summary

SSC Space AB is hiring a Business Development Engineer to drive customer engagement and commercial development for sounding rockets and stratospheric balloons from Esrange Space Center near Kiruna. The role blends sales, technical coordination and proposal development, with opportunities to travel and engage with international customers.

You will build relationships, shape offerings, negotiate contracts, and support long-term customer relationships with a focus on cross-cultural collaboration

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering, science or relevant technical field.
• Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong business acumen and ability to develop commercially viable solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities and stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-oriented and able to move opportunities forward.
• Independent work style with collaborative team contribution.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers and partners.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in science and space.
• Expand business related to student programs, sounding rockets and stratospheric balloons.
• Translate customer needs into service offerings and technical solutions.
• Coordinate input from specialists across SSC Space.
• Manage sales opportunities from dialogue to proposal, negotiation and contract closure.
• Prepare customer-facing material and proposals.
• Maintain sales pipeline with status reports and forecasts.
• Travel internationally to visit customers and attend conferences and events.
• Contribute to short- and long-term business planning.
