Job summary

Qliro is seeking a backend developer to join the Payments Platform Team, building and running the payment engine behind every purchase with strong emphasis on stability, scalability and security.

We use C# .NET, MS SQL Server, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ in an event-driven architecture. You will contribute across the full product lifecycle and participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and on-call rotations while collaborating across teams in a flexible hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Experience with backend development using similar technologies.
• Understanding of system design and API development; data structures and algorithms.
• Strong communication in English across the full development cycle.
• Curious and pragmatic about AI and tooling like Claude to improve engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of payment-related projects with focus on stability, scalability and security.
• Collaborate with teams and use Claude to improve productivity and code quality.
• Contribute across planning, implementation, testing, release and maintenance.

What your team does:

The Payments Platform Team builds and runs the payment engine behind every purchase on Qliro - payment transactions, integrations with our Payment Service Providers, and settlements consolidation for our merchants. We operate on the transactional frontline, where high availability and performance aren't optional.

You can expect to:

• Work on a variety of exciting payment-related projects, processing millions in SEK every day for thousands of customers, with a strong focus on stability, scalability, and security.
• Work with modern, AI-assisted development tools such as Claude to improve productivity, code quality, and collaboration.
• Contribute throughout the entire product lifecycle: planning, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance.
• Take part in architectural discussions and drive technical improvements.
• Collaborate continuously: we strongly believe in teamwork, thoughtful code reviews and shared ownership.
• Learn continuously, both on the job and through our learning platform, and share knowledge with your colleagues.

What we are looking for:

• You have experience with backend development using our tools or similar technologies.
• You understand the fundamentals of system design and API development, and you're comfortable reasoning about data structures and algorithms.
• You're communicative and like being involved across the full development cycle, from planning through to following up after release, and take full ownership together with your team.
• You are curious and pragmatic about AI, and enjoy exploring how tools like Claude can be used to support better engineering practices and decision-making.
• You are willing to participate in the team's on-call rotation (with extra compensation).
• You communicate fluently and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing. Swedish is not a prerequisite.
