Overview
Vesiro is building a performance enhancing plugin to Elasticsearch & OpenSearch. In customer benchmarks weve seen ~2.8x faster search enabling up to 50% fewer nodes, which means massive savings in server cost. If you want to push the limits of algorithms, data structures, and systems performance, you'll like it here. You will be part of a skilled and driven software engineering team, and you'll tackle complex technical challenges as you take part in designing, developing, and optimizing core systems of our search engine. Working closely with a small, dedicated team, you'll directly contribute to shaping our product and engineering culture. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize high-performance C++ components across query execution, indexing, compression, memory management, and I/O.
- Benchmark and profile at scale and drive end-to-end performance optimization.
- Collaborate tightly with a small, skilled team where youll ship fast.
Qualifications
- At least 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
- The candidate has held the job title Software Engineer or its equivalent.
- Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and hardware awareness.
- Strong proficiency in C++.
- Proficiency in Java for integration purposes.
- Comfortable working with Linux, using profiling tools, and writing production-level code.
- Must be a clear communicator who takes ownership of their work.
- Experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or Lucene internals.
- Prior work or serious hobby projects in Information Retrieval (IR), databases, storage engines, compression, or High-Performance Computing (HPC).
- Previous startup experience.
- Holds an MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Math, or Physics, or has equivalent depth of experience.
- The candidate must be able to work onsite in Gothenburg, Sweden.
