Job summary

Mindler, a leading digital mental health provider founded in 2018, is seeking a pragmatic, quality-focused Software Engineer to scale our care journey from Stockholm. You will join an international team building web platforms used by clinicians and patients.

You will own end-to-end features with React/TypeScript, design RESTful APIs in Node.js, deploy on AWS, and contribute to CI/CD and testing. The role offers hybrid work in Stockholm and a mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of total software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building web apps with TypeScript.
• Deep React expertise (Hooks, Context API, TanStack/Zustand).
• Experience designing RESTful APIs in Node.js with PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Experience deploying on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront).
• DevOps mindset with automated CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).
• Fluent English; Swedish language skills bonus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver features end-to-end from concept to deployment using React, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Designing and maintaining robust RESTful APIs backed by Node.js and relational databases.
• Conduct peer code reviews, maintain test coverage, and establish automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Plan sprints with product managers and mentor peers using AI tooling.

Most people suffer from mental health problems at some point in their lives. Mindler was founded in 2018 by two psychologists and one doctor with the vision to enable a world with better mental health. Since then, we have helped thousands of people meet a therapist via our app, with hundreds of clinicians working across five countries. We are known as a leading digital provider of mental health care, and we are now looking for a pragmatic, quality-focused Software Engineer to help build and scale the products driving our care journey.

What will I be doing?

As a Software Engineer on our team, you will help build our next-generation web platforms used directly by clinicians and patients in their journey toward better mental health. You will work closely with a low-ego team of product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to architect, implement, and maintain scalable systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering key features end-to-end from concept through deployment using modern web standards, React, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Designing and maintaining robust RESTful APIs backed by Node.js, optimizing web vitals, ensuring cloud cost-efficiency, and managing relational databases.
• Conducting peer code reviews, maintaining solid test coverage (Vitest, Jest, Playwright), and establishing automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Planning sprints with product managers, leveraging modern AI tooling (such as Copilot or Claude Code) to accelerate delivery, and mentoring peers.

Who are you?

• An experienced Engineer with 5+ years of overall software engineering experience, including 3+ years of hands-on experience building web applications with TypeScript.
• Deep expertise in React (Hooks, Context API, state management libraries like TanStack Query or Zustand) alongside modern HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI design.
• Strong experience designing RESTful APIs in Node.js, working with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), and deploying applications on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront).
• A DevOps & testing mindset with practical experience with automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline) and modern automated testing frameworks.
• A pragmatic problem-solver who values simplicity, takes end-to-end ownership, and communicates clearly in English. Swedish language skills are a bonus.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform); containerization/observability tools (Docker, Datadog); UI design systems; and web accessibility standards (WCAG) are desirable.
