Shape the future of Saab IT –Head of red IT

Take on a leadership role at the heart of Saab's digital transformation. As Head of Red IT within Group IT, you will lead a strategically important area responsible for Saab's most secure IT environments and services.

You will help shape the future of secure digital capabilities across Saab, ensuring that Red IT evolves to support new technologies, future business needs and continued digitalisation without compromising security or trust. Your role

As Head of Red IT, you are responsible for the performance, development and effectiveness of your area. You lead the organisation, people and capabilities, ensuring secure, reliable and cost-effective services while driving transformation in line with Saab’s business and technology priorities.

You will drive the development and modernisation of secure infrastructure, platforms and services for highly regulated and security-sensitive environments. A key focus will be strengthening standardisation, scalability and resilience while maintaining strict security and compliance requirements. As digitalisation and new technologies continue to reshape Saab, Red IT must evolve to support future demands without compromising security or trust.

You will shape the future operating model for Red IT, combining central governance with local delivery close to the business. This includes establishing common platforms, standards and security guardrails that enable local teams to deliver and operate secure on-premises environments within clearly defined responsibilities.

As part of the Modern Infrastructure management team, you will work closely with business stakeholders, technology leaders, vendors and partners. The role requires some travel to meet with your teams and business stakeholders.

In this role, you will

• Lead, develop and engage employees and leaders within the area
• Drive modernisation and technology renewal while maintaining the highest levels of security, resilience, and compliance
• Ensure trusted and robust environments that support critical business operations and security-sensitive workloads
• Define and drive the strategy and roadmap for Red IT in alignment with business needs and security requirements
• Ensure secure, resilient and efficient operational delivery and lifecycle management across Red IT services
• Establish Infrastructure as Code, automation and standardised operating practices across the on-premises environment
• Develop on-premises infrastructure and platform capabilities that enable the secure adoption of AI
• Drive security protection, risk management and compliance in close collaboration with security and accreditation functions
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate needs into secure, sustainable solutions
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, vendors and partners

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced leader who combines people leadership, business understanding and strong insight into secure infrastructure and operational delivery.

You can translate strategic direction into practical change in complex, high-security environments. You understand how Infrastructure as Code, automation and standardisation can modernise on-premises IT.

You are a people-oriented leader who creates engagement, develops others and fosters high-performing teams. At the same time, you combine strategic thinking with a strong delivery focus and a passion for modern technology and transformation.

Key qualifications and experience

• Academic degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Strong people leadership and talent development skills
• Extensive experience leading infrastructure or platform teams, with responsibility for operational delivery and service performance
• Experience leading infrastructure transformation, technology renewal, or service development in highly regulated or high-security environments
• Proven leadership of infrastructure or platform teams, including people development, operational delivery and service performance
• Strong understanding of on-premises infrastructure, platform services and lifecycle management
• Experience leading the adoption of Infrastructure as Code, automation and standardised infrastructure practices
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience from large, complex and global organisations
• Experience from the defence industry is considered an advantage
• Fluency in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken
