Job summary

Otovo, Europe's leading residential solar energy platform, is seeking a Service Technician – Solar in Sweden. You will work independently in the field performing maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and commissioning of residential solar energy systems, representing Otovo on-site and ensuring excellent customer experience.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will maintain PV systems, battery storage, and EV chargers across Sweden.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational qualification as an Electrician or equivalent in Sweden.
• ECY Certificate or equivalent documented electrical competence.
• Eligible to perform electrical installation work under Elsäkerhetsverket regulations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with residential solar PV, battery storage and EV chargers.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical installations.
• Valid Category B driving licence.
• Fluent Swedish and basic English.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physically able to lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on residential solar PV systems, battery storage systems, and EV chargers.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and commissioning of new installations.
• Troubleshoot electrical and technical issues efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service and explain technical findings to customers.
• Complete service reports and document work performed.
• Coordinate with the Service Manager and internal technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with Swedish electrical regulations and Otovo safety procedures.

Service Technician – Solar (Sweden) – Full‑time, Permanent

Location: Sweden

About The Role

As a Service Technician, you will work independently in the field, carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and commissioning of residential solar energy systems. You will represent Otovo on‑site, delivering high‑quality technical service while ensuring an excellent customer experience. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining our customers' PV systems, battery storage systems, and EV chargers across Sweden.

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on residential solar PV systems, battery storage systems, and EV chargers
• Carry out preventive maintenance and commissioning of new installations
• Troubleshoot electrical and technical issues efficiently

Requirements

• Completed vocational qualification as an Electrician (or an equivalent electrical qualification recognised in Sweden)
• ECY Certificate (ECY‑certifikat) or equivalent documented electrical competence
• Eligible to perform electrical installation work under the applicable Elsäkerhetsverket regulations
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with residential solar PV systems, battery storage systems, and EV chargers
• Experience troubleshooting electrical installations
• Valid Category B driving licence
• Fluent Swedish and basic English
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Physically able to safely handle equipment weighing up to 25 kg

• Working at Heights / Fall Protection certification
• Experience working with Swedish Distribution System Operators (DSOs)

Important Information

Electrical work may only be carried out by personnel qualified to perform such work under Swedish legislation and the applicable Elsäkerhetsverket regulations.

Employment is based on a standard 40‑hour working week, with overtime compensated in accordance with applicable legislation and company policy.

The use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
