Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team in Gothenburg. The role requires close collaboration with engineers and SMEs, ensuring that vehicle infotainment documentation matches real system behavior.

You will review source information, work hands-on with car models, and participate in in-person workshops when needed to keep content accurate and compliant.

Qualifications

• Solid background in automotive OEM technical writing (American English).
• Comfortable picking up new infotainment platforms quickly – FlyMe and GAS.
• Work independently and be proactive and curious.
• Has used Context and Acrolinx before, or can get up to speed fast.
• Some exposure to homologation or legal content requirements is a plus.
• English fluency is required; Swedish helps with day-to-day actions but isn’t a dealbreaker.

Responsibilities

• Interacting with client’s engineers and SMEs to pull source information the writing team needs.
• Get hands-on with the car models (new and current models) as soon as they’re available.
• Walk through SME-provided procedures on the actual infotainment system – flag anything that doesn’t line up.
• Join in-person workshops when needed (most meetings are virtual, but not all).
• Resolve findings back to the writing team so content stays accurate.
• Catch mismatches between engineering specs and how the car actually behaves, early enough to fix cheaply.
• Back up technical and legal review with first-hand confirmation, not just documentation.

Job description

We are looking for Technical Writer to join our team in Gothenburg. Most of the writing team works remotely, but someone still needs to be close to the car. This person sits near our client’s engineering and R&D teams in Gothenburg, sees the vehicles as they come off the line, and checks that what SMEs describe on paper actually matches what the car does. Without that local presence, small gaps between spec and reality tend to slip through until much later in the review cycle.

Requirements

• Solid background in automotive OEM technical writing (American English), ideally covering whole-vehicle user information
• Comfortable picking up new infotainment platforms quickly – FlyMe and GAS are both new, so this isn’t a one-time skill
• Work independently and being proactive and curious
• Has used Context and Acrolinx before, or can get up to speed fast
• Some exposure to homologation or legal content requirements is a plus, not a must
• English fluency is required; Swedish helps with day-to-day actions but isn’t a dealbreaker

Practical Details

• Needs to be on-site or nearby in Gothenburg for the length of the assignment (through Q4 2027)
• Should be free for vehicle inspections around each SOP date (though 2026 and 2027)
