Job summary

Runware in Sweden is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and evolve the systems and APIs powering its Web App and DevEx. You will collaborate with backend/frontend, Product and Design to deliver reliable APIs and production-grade services.

The role emphasizes autonomy, technical depth, and ownership, with opportunities to shape architecture, improve performance, and work in a remote-first environment with periodic in-person meetups.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building backend systems and APIs.
• Proficient in one or more backend languages and quick to learn new ones.
• Experience with scalable, reliable production systems.
• Solid understanding of API design, asynchronous workloads and distributed systems.
• Focus on security, reliability and performance in production.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal and developer-facing APIs and services powering the Web App.
• Develop public API functionality, including task types, validation, routing and WebSocket/REST.
• Own and maintain the Admin API and panel across Runware.
• Work with usage, billing and customer data, including Stripe.
• Investigate production issues and security vulnerabilities affecting the Web App.
