Job summary

Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is establishing a new site in Boden for a steel mill project. The QA/QC Engineer will lead on-site welding QA/QC activities, coordinate with subcontractors, and drive documentation and inspections to ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, ISO standards.

Qualifications include a BSc in Mechanical Engineering with welding QC certifications, PQR/WPS knowledge, and strong Excel skills for log and report management.

Qualifications

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with welding QC focus.
• Qualified as IWE/AWS-CWI with welding inspection certificates.
• Extensive knowledge of PWPS/WPS/PQR/WQR and welding codes (ASME, AWS, ISO).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate QA/QC on site with staff and sub-contractors for piping weld logs.
• Perform on-site visual inspections and NOIs in line with project timelines.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation and record-keeping systems.
• Plan inspections, monitor KPIs, and forecast weekly/monthly needs.
• Supervise welding activities and coordinate NCR management.
• Assist with weld map preparation and project weld reports.
