Job summary

Stegra AB is seeking an experienced Lead Legal Counsel – Project Finance to own the legal workstreams underpinning large-scale debt financing, including ECA and public funding arrangements. You will partner with senior stakeholders and mentor junior team members in a fast-growing environment.

The role reports to the Head of Legal and offers significant autonomy to shape how project finance support is delivered as the company scales, with exposure to diverse lenders and regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• LL.M. or equivalent master's in law.
• Minimum 8 years in project finance, banking, or capital markets.
• Ability to independently lead complex transactional workstreams from term sheet to final documents.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and risk-based decision making with commercial mindset.
• Fluency in English; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the debt financing legal strategy for project and corporate debt.
• Draft, negotiate, and finalize loan, intercreditor, security, and related documents.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (finance, tax, treasury) and external advisers and lenders.
• Ensure compliance with debt-related obligations and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior lawyers and scale legal processes for project debt financing.
