Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd is seeking a Principal Planner to interpret business issues and lead scheduling excellence across marine LNG/topside fabrication projects in the energy sector. This role requires independent work, senior leadership of planning teams, and deep expertise in planning/scheduling within EPCIC programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in PM/Engineering/Construction/Business or equivalent.
• 10-15 years EPCIC experience on oil & gas or power projects.
• Experience with LNG/topside fabrication preferred.
• Proficient with Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Advanced Excel skills (curves, histograms, dynamic tables).
• Produce and maintain logically linked schedules per EPCIC planning.
• Communicate effectively with team and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform schedule analysis using Project Management software including Primavera P6, Deltek Fuse & Risk, and Microsoft Project.
• Support project baseline creation during initiation and setup.
• Facilitate detailed multi-discipline scope reviews.
• Perform detailed schedule quality and integrity checks.
• Update and validate physical progress reported from EVMS systems.
• Provide project schedule support and mentor junior planners as required.
• Develop and maintain level 3 and level 4 activity schedules for marine scope installation projects in oil & gas, using best practices.
• Produce workforce histograms and progress and quantity curves in connection with the schedules.
• Maintain and review sequence of Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, Installation, Hook-Up, and Commissioning for control of critical path.
• Elevate and expedite operations delaying the schedule and analyze changes to meet unforeseen conditions.
• Create and monitor schedule compliance, KPIs, and analysis of variances to baseline data.
• Identify factors delaying the schedule and assess recovery actions; analyze changes to the schedule.
