Job summary

McDermott is seeking a Senior Planner to optimize Planning/Scheduling across complex marine and oil & gas projects. The role focuses on improving scheduling discipline, mentoring junior planners, and ensuring adherence to project guidelines and policies.

You will develop and maintain detailed level 3/4 schedules for marine installation work, analyze progress, and drive actions to mitigate delays. Strong communication skills are essential for cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or Business Management required.
• 7–10 years EPCIC experience with onshore or offshore oil & gas or power projects.
• Experience planning for large LNG or topside fabrication projects preferred.
• Strong command of Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office software.
• Proficient in advanced Excel features (curves, histograms, dynamic tables, formulas).
• Ability to produce multidisciplinary schedules and assess progress curves and critical paths.
• Excellent communication with team members and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform schedule analysis using project management software including Primavera P6, Deltek Fuse & Risk, and Microsoft Project.
• Support project baseline creation during initiation and setup phases.
• Provide project schedule support and mentor junior planners as required.
• Develop and maintain logically linked level 3 and level 4 activity schedules for marine scope installation projects.
• Produce workforce histograms and progress/quantity curves related to schedules.
• Maintain and review sequences of EPCIC phases for control of critical paths and durations.
• Identify delays and propose recovery actions to meet unforeseen conditions.
• Lead and deliver scheduling initiatives.
