Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking a Senior Developer Platform Engineer to own our monitoring and automation platform within the Onsite Digital Solutions team. You will drive innovation, shape monitoring strategy, build scalable digital solutions, and mentor colleagues to advance automation and observability capabilities.

You will collaborate with IT Management and IT Technicians to ensure operational stability, with a focus on health insights across production lines and warehouses.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least two programming languages (e.g., C#, JavaScript, Go, Python, Java).
• Experience building using Azure DevOps pipelines and infrastructure.
• Experience with containerised workloads and orchestration concepts.
• Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Power Automate or similar).
• Good knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure and related protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence and guide others.
• Familiarity with working in an agile team.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design, configuration, and optimization of our monitoring and automation platform.
• Define and implement best practices for observability, monitoring, and alerting for our users.
• Develop advanced automation workflows and tools to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.
• Architect and code missing capabilities for our platform, including integrations with hardware and systems being monitored, business platforms.
• Collaborate with developers, operations, and product teams to deliver end-to-end digital solutions.
• Act as a technical expert and advisor, guiding colleagues and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the organization.
• Play a key role in shaping the roadmap for monitoring, automation, and digital services.
