SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER AT OIM SWEDEN

Your role with us

With us, you alternate between assignments at client sites and projects in our in-house environment. Sometimes you are on-site with a client, contributing your expertise to their development team. Other times, you work alongside colleagues in our own facilities, developing prototypes and new solutions. Wherever you are, you are always part of OIM.

You will work on projects with a great variety. From MedTech and GreenTech to consumer products and industrial applications. One project may involve a medical device, while the next focuses on a solution within, for example, the furniture or consumer industry.

What you will do

You will be involved throughout the entire development journey, from early concepts to finished products. The work is hands‑on and varied, including:

• Designing and developing mechanical solutions
• Creating CAD models and drawings
• Selecting materials and manufacturing methods
• Working with prototype production and testing
• Contributing to industrialization and production adaptation
• Ensuring that designs work in reality, not just on paper

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in electronics, software, quality, and industrial design to create well‑thought‑out, complete solutions.

Our environment

At our facilities, you have access to everything you need to develop real products:

• 3D printers
• CNC machines and laser cutters

Here, ideas quickly turn into prototypes and eventually finished products.

About you

We believe you have at least 7 years of experience as a mechanical engineer and want to continue growing in an environment with a great variety.

You have:

• An engineering degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• Experience in mechanical design and construction
• Strong calculation skills in areas such as strength of materials, kinematics and dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
• Experience with injection‑molded part design – DFM, tolerances, tool adaptation, etc.
• Proficiency in CAD, preferably SolidWorks
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English

Experience in product development within cross‑functional teams or in fields such as MedTech is a plus, but not required.
