Job summary

Nordea Bank Norge ASA is seeking a Senior Financial Controller for our Finance Sweden team in Stockholm. The role covers bookkeeping, close, and statutory reporting for multiple Swedish entities with emphasis on IFRS and ÅRL/K3 compliance.

You will lead annual reports, optimize close processes, and ensure strong governance and tax reporting. Swedish and English fluency, plus a Master’s in Finance or Accounting, are required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in financial controlling, accounting and statutory reporting.
• Solid understanding of Swedish accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Experience from banking or regulated financial services preferred.
• Proven experience managing year-end close, annual reports and audits.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for bookkeeping, financial close and statutory financial reporting for several Swedish legal entities.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and Swedish accounting legislation (ÅRL/K3).
• Coordinate and prepare annual reports for Swedish entities.
• Drive continuous improvements in close and reporting processes, enabling efficient and robust financial reporting.
• Maintain strong governance structures and internal controls for compliant reporting.
• Responsible for tax calculation and reporting for Swedish entities.
• Contribute financial and accounting expertise in corporate tax and transfer-pricing matters.
• Provide financial insights and analyses to CFO and senior management.
• Act as the main contact for external and internal auditors.

Senior Financial Controller - Finance Sweden

We are looking for a Senior Financial Controller with strong expertise in statutory accounting, financial reporting and Swedish tax reporting to join Finance Sweden. In this role you will have end-to-end responsibility for financial reporting for several Swedish legal entities within Nordea Group, ensuring high quality, accuracy and compliance with external regulations and internal frameworks. You will play a key role in delivering transparent and compliant financial and tax reporting, while proactively driving continuous improvements in close and reporting processes through automation, standardisation and strong governance. This is a permanent, full‑time position based in Stockholm.

About our team

Meet the Finance Sweden team, within Financial Reporting and Control. Our team consists of four experienced specialists providing financial, regulatory and tax accounting expertise for several Swedish legal entities within Nordea Group.

• Experience from the banking sector or another regulated financial services environment is strongly preferred
• Proven experience managing year‑end close, annual reports and audit processes
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
• Experience with SAP/SAP4Hana is an advantage
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or similar
• A structured, independent and proactive way of working
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and build strong stakeholder relationships
