Job summary

ABB Västerås is hiring an embedded software engineer to design, develop, and maintain modern C++ software for industrial automation platforms. You will work with RTOS like QNX/VxWorks and contribute to architecture, reviews, and decisions.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Embedded Systems.
Strong C++ development skills and embedded systems background.
Familiarity with safety-related product development is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain embedded software in modern C++ for industrial automation platforms.
Work with RTOS environments such as QNX and VxWorks.
Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, and technical decisions.
Develop and optimize multithread applications.
Use industrial communication technologies like OPC UA, PROFINET, PROFIsafe.
Design safety-certified and cybersecurity-focused products.
Collaborate with software, hardware, QA and product teams to deliver reliable solutions.
