The role
We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a client team in Gothenburg that builds safety-critical automotive electronics. You will own software from requirements to a verified release on real hardware: production C/C++ on microcontrollers, integration into AUTOSAR-based platforms, and delivery inside a functional-safety process. You will work embedded in the client team, with Vynatix behind you.
What you will do
- Design, implement and maintain embedded software in C and C++ for automotive ECUs, bare-metal and RTOS-based
- Develop and integrate low-level drivers, communication stacks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and diagnostics (UDS)
- Work within AUTOSAR Classic or similar platforms: configuration, integration and application software
- Contribute to functional-safety work under ISO 26262: requirements, safety analyses, unit and integration testing
- Debug on target hardware with debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analysers and HIL rigs
- Own quality: code reviews, static analysis (MISRA C), CI pipelines and test automation
- Work closely with hardware, systems and test engineers and with the client's product owners
What we are looking for
- Minimum 7 years of professional embedded software development, most of it in C (C++ is a plus)
- Hands-on experience with 32-bit microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M/R, Infineon AURIX, NXP S32 or similar)
- Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and diagnostics (UDS)
- Experience with AUTOSAR Classic or another automotive software platform
- Working knowledge of ISO 26262 and safety-critical development practices (MISRA, requirements traceability)
- Comfortable with Git, CI, unit-test frameworks and debugging on target
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Based in Gothenburg, or ready to relocate (we support relocation)
Nice to have
- Experience with safety-critical products such as restraint systems, ADAS, braking or steering
- Model-based development (MATLAB/Simulink, TargetLink)
- Embedded Linux, Rust, or Python for tooling and test automation
- Cybersecurity for vehicles (ISO/SAE 21434)
- Swedish
What we offer
- Permanent employment with assignments measured in years, not months
- A small company where the founders answer their own messages
- Competitive salary and Swedish-standard benefits, including a benefit bike
- Relocation support if you are moving to Sweden
