Job summary

Avenga is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Developer to work onsite in Lund, Sweden. You will craft firmware, design APIs, and contribute to the test and build environment in a cross-functional team with CI/CD, QA, and hardware integration.

You will work with Linux/Embedded Linux, C, Python, Groovy, and modern tooling like Git, Gerrit, BitBake, Jenkins, Artifactory, and VS Code, while communicating in upper-intermediate English.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Hands-on development experience with C, Python, and Groovy.
• Solid experience working with Linux / Embedded Linux.
• Practical experience working with embedded devices.
• Experience designing and developing APIs.
• Hands-on experience with version control and code review using Git and Gerrit.
• Experience working with BitBake.
• Practical experience with Jenkins and Artifactory.
• Experience using Visual Studio Code in your development work.
• Upper-intermediate English or above.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware and APIs to support testing of devices.

At the core of the role

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Linux Developer who enjoys working hands-on with embedded systems and feels at home where firmware development, APIs, testing, and CI/CD come together.

In this role, you’ll contribute to the development and maintenance of software for embedded devices. You’ll develop new firmware functionality, design and maintain APIs used to test different parts of the devices, and work with the related build and test environment. This gives you the opportunity to contribute across several stages of embedded software development rather than focusing on just one part of the process.

You’ll work in a cross-functional engineering environment alongside professionals from embedded software development, CI/CD, QA and test automation, and systems and hardware integration.

This is an onsite position in Lund, Sweden, with office presence expected on all working days.
