Job description

ALTEN Sweden is now looking for two Senior Design Engineers with expertise in Exterior Systems to join an exciting automotive project in Gothenburg. You will play a key role in the development of next-generation vehicles, taking ownership of technical deliveries within areas such as Tailgate, Bumper, and Exterior Trim. In this role, you will lead design activities, coordinate engineering work within the team, and ensure high-quality solutions from concept to industrialization using CATIA and Teamcenter.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing exterior components such as bumpers, tailgates, and exterior trim parts using CATIA V5/V6.
• Taking technical ownership of a delivery area and driving design activities throughout the product development process.
• Leading and coordinating engineering work within a team environment, ensuring quality and timely deliveries.
• Working in Teamcenter for product data management, release handling, and collaboration across functions.
• Collaborating closely with manufacturing, purchasing, CAE, and quality teams to ensure robust and manufacturable designs.
• Driving component development, technical investigations, design reviews, and engineering change management

Who You Are:

• Several years of experience in automotive product development and component design.
• Strong expertise in plastic and/or metal component design, preferably within bumper, exterior trim, or tailgate systems.
• Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5/V6.
• Experience working in Teamcenter or a similar PLM system.
• Previous experience leading a technical delivery, module, or development team.
• Strong knowledge of automotive development processes and product realization.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive stakeholders and engineering teams forward.
