Job summary

Arrowhead Game Studios in Stockholm is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, optimize, and operate our data infrastructure and backend systems. You will work with a collaborative team using SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure, C# and ASP.NET Core to build scalable, data-driven backend solutions for our co-op titles.

Located in Södermalm, Stockholm, this full-time role offers an initial probation period and the chance to shape data pipelines, observability, and cloud integration across game

Qualifications

• Experience tuning all aspects of SQL Server, including query and execution-plan analysis and how to place the right index.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify and mitigate locking and concurrency issues.
• Observability and monitoring: know what matters and what to act on; identify blind spots.
• Automation and orchestration of repetitive tasks such as reports and data exports.
• Experience with data classification and retention needs.
• Backend development experience using C# and ASP.NET Core.
• Familiar with Azure and their data infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement database structures using SQL Server for performance and retrieval.
• Ensure production database operations remain healthy under load for players and developers.
• Create and maintain alert rules, Grafana dashboards, and diagnostics.
• Operate and evolve Azure Data Factory pipelines and telemetry events.
• Develop back-end solutions using C#, ASP.NET Core, and MS Orleans for scalability.
• Utilize Azure services to build cloud-based back-end components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver projects.
