Job summary

Ampstek is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a 6-12 month onsite assignment in Gothenburg, Sweden, working with a global IT services partner for a major automotive client.

You will design and maintain data products and pipelines with a strong focus on data quality, privacy compliance and high uptime, enabling data-driven insights across the business.

The role requires 8+ years of experience and hands-on ETL/ELT on cloud platforms, with a strong SQL base and Python/Scala/Java proficiency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience as a Data Engineer
• Strong SQL and at least one of Python, Scala or Java
• Hands-on experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure, AWS or GCP
• Understanding of data privacy principles and delivering compliant data solutions
• Strong focus on data quality, monitoring and operational reliability

Responsibilities

• Build, run and improve data pipelines through automation, scalability and performance enhancements
• Ensure data quality, accuracy and reliability across all data solutions
• Monitor pipeline performance and quickly resolve issues to minimise downtime
• Implement testing, validation and monitoring processes

• Strong focus on data quality, monitoring and operational reliability

Nice to have

• GDPR and data governance experience
• Airflow, Databricks or Grafana
• Kafka or other streaming technologies
