Truecaller is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to lead security across our Google Cloud Platform. You will design, implement, and enforce robust security controls while actively building and deploying tooling in production.

You will mentor engineers, drive systemic risk reduction, and balance security with operational velocity across complex GCP environments. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering, automation, and pragmatic threat defense in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on experience in a senior security engineering role.
• Ability to lead technical designs across multiple squads.
• Strong threat awareness and proactive defense strategies.
• Comfort breaking down complex problems and defining standards for new tech.
• Experience configuring infrastructure, production-grade code, and debugging complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and Lead GCP Security: end-to-end security architecture for GCP infrastructure.
• Hands-on Remediation & Engineering: write code, fix vulnerabilities, deploy tooling in production.
• Drive Systemic Risk Reduction: identify systemic risks and drive changes beyond patches.
• Manage GCP Security Posture: use SCC, Cloud Armor, IAM to improve posture.
• Advanced Network & Container Security: design network controls and GKE hardening.
• Mentorship and Technical Sparring: mentor engineers and raise standards.
• Automate Security Operations: develop automation to replace manual reviews.
