Job summary

WirelessCar is looking for experienced Platform Engineers to join Cloud Tools in Gothenburg. You will develop and operate a mature CI/CD solution, talk to users to turn needs into practical improvements, and take production ownership.

The team works with Go, Python and Angular, runs on AWS, and aims to extend artifact management and governance at scale. You will help keep services reliable, secure and efficient while collaborating across the company.

Job description

This is a role for someone who enjoys building and maintaining shared services, talking to users and taking responsibility for quality in production.

Cloud Tools is part of the department Enablers and provides tools and services for CI/CD, source control and artifact management for internal developers. The team’s mission is to make everyday development easier across WirelessCar.

You will join an outspoken and fiercely supportive team. Its members challenge each other, stand up for their views and work together when things get difficult.

About WirelessCar

WirelessCar develops and operates connected vehicle services and cloud-based products for customers around the world. Headquartered in Gothenburg, we work globally with some of the automotive industry’s best-known brands.

About the Role

You will be a part of a team that develops and operates a mature and stable CI/CD solution. We are moving towards a new phase and much focus will be on delivering source code management where configuration and governance can scale with shifting needs. The roadmap also includes extending the current artifact management to also allow for new forms of collaboration.

AWS is central to the technical environment, and the team mainly develops in Go and Python. The team also maintains frontend tooling built with Angular.

Most of Cloud Tools’ users are Java developers, so Java eco systems experience can help you understand the users’ needs and technical challenges.

The services come with 24/7 production responsibility. Support calls are very rare, but being ready to respond remains part of the role.

We are looking for experienced Platform Engineers who:

• Enjoy working with users and colleagues across the company, a great communicator
• Can stand up for their views and stay calm when things go wrong
• Have worked with shared platforms, tools or services
• Curious and adventurous digging into the unknown
• Are comfortable working in AWS
• Experience with CI/CD platforms
• Solid programming experience and the ability to work across different languages and codebases. (For example Go or Python and similar languages used for backend or platform engineering)
• Know GitHub well and understand artifact management
• Care about quality and take responsibility beyond an individual task
• Value meeting and working with the team in Gothenburg regularly

Experience from a company-wide enabling or internal platform context is particularly relevant. Knowledge of WirelessCar’s development environment and organization is valuable.

It Would Be a Plus if You Have

• Experience with Angular
• Experience with the Java eco system
• Interested in or experience in using Kubernetes
• Experience with PostgreSQL
