Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH is looking for an experienced IT Systems Support professional to ensure robust Linux-based CAE computing environments. The role supports approximately 300 CAE users globally, collaborating with IT Ops, PLM, and CAD teams, and involves automation and ongoing improvements.

Based in Lund or Flemingsberg, the position requires deep Linux knowledge, scripting skills, and experience with HPC/workload managers.

Formación

• 10+ years in similar systems support, infra engineering, or Linux admin.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, esp. Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience scripting in Linux shell, PowerShell, CMD, or Python.
• University engineering degree required.
• Experience with HPC, Slurm, and workload managers is a plus.
• Experience with Active Directory and software license management is advantageous.

Supporting approximately 300 CAE users globally, you will work with the Specialist CAE, IT Infrastructure, PLM and CAD teams to maintain and improve the technical environment used by our engineering organization.The role combines user support, infrastructure administration and continuous improvement, including contributing to Alfa Laval’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based cluster with Slurm as the workload manager. You will handle both day-to-day support and longer-term improvements, and may occasionally need to provide support outside regular office hours when urgent system incidents or critical planned activities require it.Key responsibilitiesProvide technical support to CAE usersInvestigate user needs and help identify effective technical solutionsManage the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of CAE-related applications.Support and maintain Linux-based computing environmentsContribute to the administration of high-performance computing resourcesHelp ensure systems are secure, stable and up to dateCreate and maintain scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiencyAnalyze recurring problems and recommend improvements that reduce incidents and improve user experience.Collaborate with users, IT teams and other technical specialistsThis position is based in either Lund or Flemingsberg and reports to the Manager Operations Applications & Infrastructure.Who are youYou are a curious and solution-oriented professional who enjoys learning and understanding the technical challenges behind users’ needs.
