Job summary

Etraveli Group is seeking a Senior BI Developer focusing on Finance to join our BI team in Sweden (Uppsala or Stockholm). You will build and maintain financial reporting and analytics applications using Qlik Sense, Looker, and dbt, shaping our data platform and data pipelines.

You will collaborate with Finance and other stakeholders to translate business needs into robust BI solutions, contribute to the evolution of the data platform, and mentor junior colleagues in a fast-paced, international

Qualifications

• A university degree in a quantitative field (economics, statistics, engineering or similar)
• Either or both: extensive professional experience of development in some Business Intelligence tools (e.g., QlikView, Qlik Sense, Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and/or experience with analytics engineering, writing pipelines for analytical data in a data warehouse technology. Experience with dbt, Dremio and/or spark in particular are seen as big advantages
• Demonstrated abilities in handling data with code and to produce meaningful data visualizations that can drive insights
• Strong communication skills including excellent command of spoken and written English

To strengthen our capabilities in analytics engineering and data visualisation, Etraveli Group is now recruiting a Senior Business Intelligence Developer with a focus on Finance to join the BI team.
The role can be located in either Uppsala or Stockholm.
About the job
You will be joining our BI team in creating and maintaining data pipelines and relevant business intelligence applications. The latter are presently created in Qlik Sense and Looker. Work is also underway to evolve our tech stack by implementing dbt and a new data platform. You will play a vital role in this journey, taking a major part in shaping how our BI team evolves its ways of working.

Your role will require both a deep understanding of the business needs and the skill set to acquire, handle and analyse the relevant data. You will have a close direct connection and collaboration with other groups and departments acting as stakeholders for the applications you develop.

Our BI team is split across the offices in Uppsala, Stockholm, Göteborg, Mumbai and Athens, and caters to the whole organisation. In total we are nineteen developers and our processes and technical setup are mature, but constantly adapting to the business and the technical landscape.

The data you will be using is mostly structured in databases maintained by the IT-department and we use several different database technologies. Less structured data will also occur frequently.

Requirements

You need to be passionate about business and numbers since the job requires both a deep understanding of the business needs, as well as the ability to acquire, handle and analyse the relevant data. Personality-wise you are curious, methodical, ambitious and thorough. More formally, you have:

• a university degree in a quantitative field (economics, statistics, engineering or similar)
• either or both: extensive professional experience of development in some Business Intelligence tools (e.g., QlikView, Qlik Sense, Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and/or experience with analytics engineering, writing pipelines for analytical data in a data warehouse technology. Experience with dbt, Dremio and/or spark in particular are seen as big advantages
• demonstrated abilities in handling data with code and to produce meaningful data visualizations that can drive insights
• strong communication skills including excellent command of spoken and written English

Experience working with financial data, financial reporting concepts, or ERP systems is highly beneficial, as you will be working closely with our Finance department.
