Job summary

Lendo in Stockholm is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and evolve backend services powering customer journeys. You will work within a cross-functional product team with ownership from design to release and maintenance, in a modern office environment with snacks and a social atmosphere.

The role emphasizes Go microservices, cloud-native stack using GCP, Kubernetes and Docker, and opportunities to influence architectural decisions and team practices.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience in backend development and production systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with at least one backend programming language. Go is highly relevant, but other strong backend backgrounds are welcome.
• Experience designing and building scalable backend systems, ideally using microservices.
• A strong understanding of software architecture, scalability and system reliability.
• Experience with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Git.
• Experience with CI/CD, for example GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• A strong quality mindset where testing, code reviews and maintainable code are a natural part of your work.
• An understanding of how to build systems that are reliable, observable and able to scale.
• The ability to take ownership of technical solutions and drive them forward.
• A collaborative mindset and an interest in sharing knowledge and continuously improving.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimize scalable Go microservices.
• Take end-to-end ownership of backend solutions and contribute to architecture within your domain.
• Build reliable, maintainable and well-tested services that can scale with customer and business needs.
• Work with asynchronous communication and messaging using AMQP.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and other engineers to turn customer and business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions and engineering best practices.
• Monitor and improve system performance, reliability and observability.
• Share knowledge, contribute to code reviews and continuously improve how the team works.
