Job summary

SCANIA Aktiebolag, through its Erinion unit, seeks a Senior Backend Developer to evolve Erinion Connect, a cloud-native CMS for smart charging and energy management in commercial transport. You’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, Analytics and AI teams to design and deliver scalable backend services and integrations.

This backend-first role involves ~70% platform and integration work, with opportunities to contribute across the stack. AI-assisted development tools are part of daily work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Python and/or Node.js (TypeScript).
• Experience building cloud-native apps on AWS.
• Knowledge of architecture, distributed systems and integration patterns.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, plus cloud storage solutions.
• Experience designing REST APIs, microservices and event-driven systems.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions independently, and use AI-assisted coding tools.

Role Summary

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a key role in building and evolving Erinion Connect, our cloud-native Charging Management System (CMS) for smart charging and energy management in commercial transport. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics and Applied AI teams, as well as a strategic technology partner, you will design and deliver scalable backend services, integrations and cloud-native solutions that support Erinion's growth. We're looking for an experienced engineer who combines strong backend expertise with architectural thinking. AI-assisted development tools are part of our daily workflow, but we value engineers who can independently drive technical decisions and build robust, scalable systems.

This is a backend-first role, with approximately 70% of the work focused on platform and integration engineering and the flexibility to contribute across the stack when needed.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong experience with Python and/or Node.js (TypeScript).
• Experience designing and building cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and integration patterns.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and cloud storage solutions.
• Experience building REST APIs, microservices and event-driven systems.
• Ability to make sound technical and architectural decisions independently.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in day-to-day development.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• React experience.
• Java experience.
• Experience with TMS, FMS, ERP or telematics integrations.
• Knowledge of OCPP, OCPI or EV charging technologies.
• Experience with TimescaleDB.
• Startup or scale-up experience.
