Job summary

Empiric in Stockholm, Sweden is seeking a Senior Android Developer / Technical Lead. You will own technical delivery while remaining hands-on with Android development, guiding a high-performing Agile team in a hybrid setup (2 days onsite per week).

You’ll work at the intersection of native Android, technical leadership and emerging AI technologies, exploring Generative AI, RAG and agentic AI to transform digital experiences.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android development experience
• Strong hands-on Kotlin and Java experience
• Experience with MVVM architecture
• REST API and JSON integration experience
• CI/CD experience e.g. Jenkins
• Experience with mobile monitoring and analytics
• Mentoring or guiding distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Design and develop native Android apps using Kotlin/Java.
• Use MVVM to build scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Integrate REST APIs and JSON data.
• Lead adoption of Generative AI, RAG and Agentic AI.
• Explore AI-powered search, recommendations, assistants, and conversations.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments (Jenkins).
• Write unit tests and ensure production-grade reliability.
• Monitor and analyze app performance (Firebase Crashlytics/Adobe Analytics).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to remote teams.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to translate requirements into tech solutions.
