Job summary

Cubestech Ltd. is seeking a senior Android engineer in Stockholm for a hybrid role (2-3 days on-site per week). You will lead development of native Android apps using Kotlin and Java, with a strong emphasis on MVVM, clean architecture, and scalable multi-module designs.

You'll work with REST APIs, JSON, Kotlin Flows, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and Gradle, while shaping testing strategies (JUnit/Mockito/MockK) and CI/CD practices in an Agile team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in developing native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Java fundamentals, design patterns and best practices.
• Experience with MVVM architecture and modern Android app architecture.
• Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs and consuming JSON.
• Strong experience with Coroutines and Kotlin Flows, including Cold and Hot Flows.
• Experience with multi-module architecture and API/Implementation module design.
• Knowledge of XML/View system and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Compose state management, performance and recomposition debugging.
• Experience with Android Navigation, including type-safe navigation, deep links, and nav state restoration.
• Experience with Hilt or Koin for dependency injection.
• Strong Gradle knowledge, including build logic and plugin development.
• Experience with Logs, Crashlytics and Adobe Analytics.
• Exposure to CI/CD and Jenkins.
• Strong experience in unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, and/or MockK.
• Experience with integration testing, end-to-end testing, and TDD.
• Prior experience working in an Agile environment.
• Ability to work independently, understand requirements, and take ownership.
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to guide remote/offshore teams.
• Good communication skills and fluent English.
• Strong team player with a proactive approach to technical improvements and team processes.
