Job summary

PHINIA’s Åmål plant is seeking a Senior Accountant to safeguard the accuracy and timeliness of the site’s financial records. You will lead core accounting processes and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. The role covers monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting, cash flow management, audits, VAT and Intrastat, and adherence to internal controls and SOX.

Fluent English; Swedish knowledge preferred. Strong Excel and ERP skills, with manufacturing experience valued.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong experience in financial accounting, month-end close, balance sheet control, cash-flow management and statutory reporting within a manufacturing environment.
• Sound knowledge of internal controls and SOX-compliant processes, with experience supporting internal and external audits.
• Working knowledge of Swedish VAT, Intrastat and statutory accounting requirements relevant to a Swedish legal entity.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with an ERP system; able to manage detailed data accurately under tight deadlines.
• Clear communication, strong prioritization and the confidence to collaborate with plant leadership, GBS and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Professional working proficiency in English; Swedish language capability is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting for the Åmål plant, including profit and loss and balance sheet reporting to strict deadlines.
• Manage plant cash flow reporting and forecasting and maintain effective control of company bank accounts.
• Coordinate ledger activities delivered through the Global Business Services team and ensure dependable, well-controlled processes are followed.
• Lead liaison with internal and external auditors and support successful completion of statutory and internal audits.
• Ensure finance activities are completed in accordance with applicable internal-control and SOX requirements.
• Control expenditure against budget and provide clear visibility of variances and required actions.
• Oversee Swedish statutory and regulatory reporting relevant to the role, including VAT and Intrastat reporting.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures, improve reporting processes, support quarterly stock analysis, and coach Finance and GBS colleagues.

Job purpose Join the Åmål plant Finance team in a senior accounting role that safeguards the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the site’s financial records and reporting.
