Job summary

ALTEN Gothenburg is seeking an experienced Telecom Developer to contribute to 5G Baseband and RAN software development and optimization. You will work on real-time telecom infrastructure, network components, and performance improvements in a collaborative, Agile environment.

The role requires strong C/C++ programming, Linux familiarity, and knowledge of MAC/L1 telecom protocols, with a focus on low-latency, high-performance systems. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in telecom software development.
• Experience with real-time systems, Baseband, and RAN software development.
• Knowledge of 5G or 4G wireless communication.
• Strong programming in C/C++, Linux, multithreading, low-latency systems.
• Familiarity with telecom protocols MAC (scheduler) and L1 standards.
• AI-assisted software development, testing, debugging, and code generation would be a plus
• Ability to read, analyze, and implement technical documentation and coding standards.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and optimize telecom software for 5G Baseband and RAN systems.
• Work with real-time programming, low-latency processing, and performance optimization.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex telecom software using GDB, Wireshark, and log analysis tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
• Read, analyze, and implement 3GPP specifications and coding standards.
