Job summary

Functional Software Stockholm AB in Malmö seeks a skilled Scala/JVM developer to build and evolve large-scale data services and data pipelines. You will implement matching, merging, and anomaly detection algorithms, while aiming to improve simplicity, scalability, and throughput in growing data volumes.

The role emphasizes on-site collaboration in Malmö, English communication, and opportunities to automate processes and design new functionality. 6-month contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Strong programming and design skills.
• Deep knowledge and experience of the JVM, preferably Scala.
• Experience with one or more application frameworks like Spark, Akka, Play, ETL and data streaming.
• Fluent English communication (oral and written).
• Either permanent residency in Sweden, or commitment to moving to Sweden, preferably near Malmö as the work is on-site in Malmö.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve large-scale data services and data pipelines in Scala.
• Develop algorithms to match, merge, and identify anomalies in large datasets.
• Improve throughput, scalability and efficiency of data systems; shorten throughput time.
• Identify automation opportunities, propose solutions, and define requirements for new functionality.
