Job description

Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Urology Unit at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery focuses on mainly on clinical epidemiological research on the etiology, prognosis, treatment/intervention evaluation and outcomes of diseases and conditions in the urinary tract and male urogenital organs. We have a strong methodological background in clinical epidemiology and research using large clinical databases and healthcare and population registers.

Description Of The Subject Area

This project primarily involves register-based studies in the field of urology. With the availability of large longitudinal data from the Swedish national registries and the advancement of statistical methods, we are in a unique position to explore and evaluate urological health from different perspectives across all ages. This will include urological outcomes of pediatric malformations, with a focus on hypospadias, as well as research on prostate cancer. There will be a particular focus on evaluating aspects of urological healthcare. For hypospadias, this entails register-based follow-up of hypospadias surgery and surgical outcomes, and for prostate cancer the focus is on exploring aspects of Organised Prostate Cancer Testing (OPT)

Your mission

The Urology Unit is now recruiting a research specialist in epidemiology and public health who will collaborate with our team in the data analysis and interpretation. While there will be opportunities for you to contribute to other ongoing studies with different methodologies and scopes, you will primarily be project-leading register-based research.

The role is a part-time (around 50 %) temporary contract for approximately 6 months, with the possibility to be extended up to one year.
