Job summary

SearchApi is seeking a builder-designer hybrid to make our developer-facing product feel premium. You’ll design in Figma and ship in production using Hotwire, with an emphasis on a fast, native HTML-first experience.

You’ll own the dashboard, API playground, and docs, delivering data-dense interfaces and thoughtful UI across the stack. Remote-friendly environment for a small, bootstrapped team building real tools for engineers.

Qualifications

• Production frontend you designed and built yourself, with links to show it.
• Strong with a server-rendered, component-based stack (Rails + Hotwire strongly preferred).
• Fluent in Tailwind (or a similar utility CSS) and a real design tool like Figma.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship features from Figma to production.
• Own the dashboard experience including usage analytics, billing, API keys.
• Build interactive API playgrounds and developer tools.
• Maintain coherent component system across docs and marketing.
• Improve data visualizations with honest data display.
• Push Hotwire to its limits; keep HTML-first and minimize JS.
• Clean up JavaScript bundle and CSS.
