Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd., based in Ludvika, Sweden, is seeking an R&D Engineer to join the HV Capacitors Technology team and contribute to cost-competitive capacitor solutions.

In this role you will lead and/or contribute to R&D projects, build experimental setups, analyze results, and collaborate with global teams, academia, and Hitachi Energy Research. The position offers growth opportunities within a diverse international organization.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3+ years experience with HV capacitors or related field.
• Strong analytical and experimental planning/analysis capability.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a global team.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Willingness to engage in leadership and project management development.

Responsibilities

• Develop the next generation HV capacitors focusing on electrical design.
• Lead and/or contribute to R&D projects with planning, execution and documentation.

• Communicate results through technical reports, IP and presentations.

We are seeking an R&D Engineer to join the HV Capacitors Technology team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of cost-competitive capacitor products that deliver best-in-class technology and quality. How You’ll Make An Impact

• You will develop the next generation High voltage capacitors focusing on the electrical design.
• Lead and/or contribute to R&D projects, Work packages with planning, execution, analyses and documentation in a structured and target-oriented working style
• Build experimental set-ups, conduct tests, and analyze test results, possibly including physical modelling.
• Work with a global R&D team ensuring knowledge sharing, and timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Close collaboration with our Hitachi Energy Research organization and with academia
• Create ideas and proposals for new R&D projects.
• Effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other external partners
• Quality issue resolutions
• Document results in the form of technical reports, presentations, IP etc.

Your Background

• Background in Electrical Engineering preferably PhD or MSc
• Ideally 3 Years of working experience in the field of HV capacitors
• Sound analytical skills and experience with planning, conducting and analysis of experiments.
• Openness for new challenges and interest to learn and developTeam spirit with the capacity to work independently complemented by well-developedanalytical skills
• Ability to also work in other technical areas, as for example: materials, insulation systems, thermal management, Multiphysics integration.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in, or ability to develop, project management and technical leadership skills.
• Bonus if you also have working experience of modelling and characterization of HV capacitors and/or other HV devices with solid insulation.
• Swedish and other languages is meritorious
