Dafo Vehicle AB USSC is seeking a hands‑on Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and sustain quality assurance processes that meet ISO 9001 and customer requirements. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering role, preferably in an SME environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, etc.).
  • Proven hands‑on experience with PPAP, FMEA, SPC, 8D, IMDS, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of MDS System and analytical problem‑solving mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
  • Support audits and ensure timely closure of non‑conformances and corrective actions.
  • Own and coordinate PPAP, FAI, incoming inspection, MRB activities, and production quality approvals.
  • Act as site expert for material and product compliance (IMDS, REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals).
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Drive RCA and CAPA to improve product and process performance.
  • Identify cost‑effective quality improvements across operations.
  • Define and implement quality control plans, SPC, and sampling strategies.
  • Plan, conduct, and own product and process audits.
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing to improve DFMA and reliability.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement and scorecards.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers on audits and management.
  • Lead customer complaint handling and corrective actions (8D).
  • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, including PPAP approval.
  • Monitor quality KPIs, analyze trends, and report insights to senior management.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools for fact‑based decisions.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with procurement, supply chain, logistics, sales, and customer service.
  • Promote a Health, Safety & Environmental culture and live PASSION values.

About the Role:

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products and processes meet established quality standards and customer requirements. You will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and sustaining quality assurance and control systems, while actively driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

This is a hands‑on role requiring strong problem‑solving capability, close collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers, and a proactive mindset to uphold compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management & Compliance
  • Implement and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of non‑conformances and corrective actions
  • Own and coordinate PPAP, FAI, incoming inspection, MRB activities, and production quality approvals
  • Act as site expert for material and product compliance, including IMDS, REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals
  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving methodologies
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product and process performance
  • Identify cost‑effective quality improvements across operations
Product & Process Quality
  • Define and implement quality control plans, SPC, and sampling strategies
  • Plan, conduct, and own product and process audits
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing to improve design for manufacturability and reliability
  • Drive supplier performance improvement and quality metrics (Supplier Scorecards)
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure effective supplier auditing and management
  • Lead customer complaint handling and corrective actions using tools such as 8D
  • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and customer‑specific requirements, including PPAP approval
  • Monitor quality KPIs, analyze trends, and report insights to senior management
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to support fact‑based decision‑making
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with procurement, supply chain, logistics, sales, and customer service
  • Actively promote a strong Health, Safety & Environmental culture and live the USSC PASSION values
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering role, preferably in an SME environment
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, etc.)
  • Proven hands‑on experience with PPAP, FMEA, SPC, 8D, IMDS, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong Knowledge MDS System
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem solving skills
  • Fluent English (professional working proficiency)
  • Commitment to Lean and Six Sigma development (certifications supported)
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Science
  • Experience working within a Lean Operating Model / Production System
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification from a recognized body
Travel and work:
  • Up to 20% travel to suppliers and customers
