Job summary

BenBau Group, an international construction company with Irish roots, seeks an experienced QA/QC Group Manager to lead the quality function on major projects in Sweden, including data centre constructions.

You will head the site QA/QC team, ensure works are planned, inspected, and documented to the highest standards, and drive continuous improvement in quality management across the project lifecycle. Fluent English and strong leadership are essential to coordinate with multinational teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree or relevant technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Significant QA/QC experience within the construction industry, including previous experience in a management or senior leadership position.
  • Proven experience managing and developing QA/QC teams on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete construction and associated inspection and testing requirements.
  • Experience on data centre, industrial, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, inspection processes, and quality documentation.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, managing, and developing the project QA/QC team, including QA/QC Engineers, Inspectors, and document control personnel.
  • Defining team responsibilities, priorities, workload, and quality objectives.
  • Preparing, implementing, reviewing, and continuously improving the Project Quality Plan and associated quality procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contractual requirements, ITPs, Method Statements, and applicable standards.
  • Overseeing quality activities relating to reinforced concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement, embedded items, anchor systems, concrete placement, curing, finishing, and inspections.
  • Reviewing and approving ITPs, Quality Plans, Method Statements, procedures, checklists, inspection records, and quality documentation.
  • Managing the approval process for quality documentation with the General Contractor and Client.
  • Overseeing preparation, review, and submission of Technical Submittals.
  • Ensuring quality documentation is uploaded, maintained, and tracked on the Client's document management platform.
  • Monitoring concrete quality records, including delivery dockets, pour cards, concrete registers, cube tests, lab reports, certificates, and traceability docs.
  • Ensuring all quality documentation is controlled and maintained per ISO 9001 and project QMS.
  • Planning and coordinating inspections with site teams, subcontractors, consultants, GC, and client representatives.
  • Ensuring First of Kind inspections are planned, conducted, documented, approved, and communicated to the project team.
  • Managing snag/NCR registers, corrective/preventive actions, root-cause analyses, and lessons learned.
  • Ensuring non-conformances are investigated, addressed, monitored, and closed timely.
  • Conducting internal quality audits, site inspections, quality walks, and compliance reviews.
  • Monitoring project quality performance and reporting KPIs, trends, risks, and issues to management.
  • Providing technical support to construction teams on quality-related matters.
  • Communicating quality requirements through inductions, toolbox talks, training, and briefings.
  • Promoting a proactive quality culture across the project.

BenBau is an international construction company with Irish roots, specialising in concrete works and data centre construction projects across Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. We are currently looking for an experienced QA/QC Group Manager to lead and develop our quality function on major construction projects in Sweden.

Our workforce is diverse and multinational, consisting of professionals from Romania, Germany, Poland, Sweden, and many other countries. We are seeking a technically strong and experienced quality professional who can lead the QA/QC team, establish effective quality processes, and ensure consistent compliance across all project activities.

Job Title: QA/QC Group Manager

The Role

In this role, you will take overall responsibility for both Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across a portfolio of projects.

You will lead the site QA/QC team and ensure that all works are planned, inspected, executed, and documented in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, client requirements, contractual obligations, the project Quality Management System, and applicable international standards.

You will work closely with project management, construction teams, subcontractors, the General Contractor, consultants, and client representatives to maintain high quality standards throughout the full project lifecycle.

As the QA/QC Group Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, managing, and developing the project QA/QC team, including QA/QC Engineers, Inspectors, and document control personnel
  • Defining team responsibilities, priorities, workload, and quality objectives
  • Preparing, implementing, reviewing, and continuously improving the Project Quality Plan and associated quality procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contractual requirements, Inspection and Test Plans, Method Statements, and applicable standards

  • Ensuring all required quality documentation is correctly uploaded, maintained, and tracked on the Client's document management platform

  • Ensuring all quality documentation is controlled and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001 and the project Quality Management System
  • Planning and coordinating inspections with site teams, subcontractors, consultants, the General Contractor, and client representatives
  • Ensuring that First of Kind inspections are properly planned, conducted, documented, approved, and communicated to the wider project team
  • Managing snag registers, NCR registers, corrective actions, preventive actions, root cause analyses, and lessons learned
  • Ensuring non-conformances are investigated, addressed, monitored, and closed within the agreed timeframes
  • Conducting internal quality audits, site inspections, quality walks, and compliance reviews
  • Monitoring project quality performance and reporting quality KPIs, trends, risks, and recurring issues to project and senior management
  • Providing technical support to construction teams in resolving quality-related matters
  • Ensuring quality requirements are clearly communicated through inductions, toolbox talks, training sessions, and project briefings
  • Promoting a proactive quality culture across all levels of the project
  • Supporting client inspections, external audits, and third-party quality reviews
  • Overseeing the preparation of handover documentation, final quality dossiers, and project completion records
  • Ensuring all documentation is complete, approved, traceable, and ready for final handover
Requirements
  • Degree or relevant technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Significant QA/QC experience within the construction industry, including previous experience in a management or senior leadership position
  • Proven experience managing and developing QA/QC teams on large-scale construction projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete construction and associated inspection and testing requirements
  • Experience working on data centre, industrial, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, or other mission-critical construction projects is highly desirable

  • Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience managing NCRs, corrective actions, root cause analyses, audits, and quality improvement processes
  • Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high standards within a fast-paced project environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and compliance
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
  • Romanian language skills are highly advantageous for supporting communication, quality inductions, and toolbox talks with the site workforce
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction document management platforms
  • Previous experience working in Sweden or Scandinavia would be considered an advantage
