Job summary

H&MV Engineering is seeking a capable and detail-driven Project Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of EPC projects in Sweden. You will assist with cost control, quantity take-offs, contract administration, subcontract management, procurement, and financial reporting across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, knowledge of commercial procedures, and practical understanding of construction projects in the energy or infrastructure sector.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Track actual costs against budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Administer main contracts and subcontracts.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier claims and variations.
  • Maintain contractual records, notices, and correspondence.
  • Prepare tender packages and procurement schedules.
  • Evaluate subcontractors and prepare recommendation reports.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely award of subcontracts.
  • Provide input to monthly commercial reports with cost tracking and forecasting.
  • Maintain project documentation and change order logs.
  • Support internal audit and compliance processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams for cost data.
  • Engage with suppliers to clarify scope, deliverables, pricing.
  • Identify commercial and contractual risks; support mitigation strategies.

About the Role:

We are seeking a capable and detail-driven Project Quantity Surveyor to support the successful delivery of EPC projects in Sweden. This role involves assisting with cost control, quantity take-offs, contract administration, subcontract management, procurement, and financial reporting across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, knowledge of commercial procedures, and a practical understanding of construction projects, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in monitoring and managing project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support the preparation of interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Track actual costs against budgets and assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support the administration of main contracts and subcontracts.
  • Assist in evaluating subcontractor and supplier claims and variations.
  • Maintain contractual records, notices, and correspondence to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to the preparation of tender packages and procurement schedules.
  • Assist in subcontractor evaluations, comparisons, and recommendation reports.
  • Liaise with the procurement team to ensure timely award and execution of subcontracts.
  • Provide input to monthly commercial reports, including cost tracking and forecasting.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and change order logs.
  • Support internal audit and compliance processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather cost data and support project delivery.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure clarity in scope, deliverables, and pricing.
  • Assist in identifying commercial and contractual risks.
  • Support the development of mitigation strategies and monitor risk registers.
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 3-6 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within an EPC, infrastructure, or MEP environment.
  • Working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, NEC) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with ExceExcel and Cost Management software e.g. Cost X.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
