We are supporting a leading consultancy firm specialising in the infrastructure sector (particularly Data Centres), renowned for delivering complex and high-profile projects across Europe. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Planner to join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued success.

Role Overview

The Project Planner will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of infrastructure and facility sector projects. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in project controls, scheduling, and progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Project Controls
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust project controls systems to manage project risks, costs, and schedules.
  • Monitor and control project performance against established baselines.
  • Identify potential issues and risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
Scheduling
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure all tasks and milestones are accurately reflected in the schedule.
  • Perform critical path analysis and optimise schedules to improve project delivery.
Report Progress
  • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, issues, and risks.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual progress against planned milestones.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to project teams and senior management.
Stakeholder Management
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and senior management to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
Compliance and Standards
  • Ensure all planning activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Continuously improve project planning processes and tools to enhance project delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project planning, with a focus on infrastructure and facility sector projects.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project planning and scheduling software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • PMO Experience: Proven experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO), with a solid understanding of PMO methodologies and practices.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of infrastructure project planning, including large-scale facility construction and maintenance.
  • Certifications: PMP, PMI-SP, or similar project management certifications are highly desirable.
  • Travel and Mobility: Willingness to travel across Europe as required. An EU Passport is essential for ease of mobility.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other European languages is an advantage.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
