ABB söker en IPU Manager till Västerås som leder tvärfunktionella team och driver industrialisering av produkter genom hela livscykeln. Du kommer att stödja nära R&D och tillverkningsenheter, definiera processer och säkerställa kundvärde genom optimering och kostnadseffektivitet.

Du rapporterar till Product Engineering Manager inom Smart Power och kommer att arbeta i en dynamisk miljö med fokus på kvalitet och kontinuerlig förbättring. Rollen kräver teknisk kompetens och stark kommunikation.

Qualifications

• Universitetsutbildning i mekanik, elektroteknik eller industriell teknik.
• Flytande svenska och engelska i tal och skrift.
• Erfarenhet av verktyg som MS Office, PPAP, DFM, DFA och PLM.

Responsibilities

• Koordinera och driva samarbetet inom teamet samt med lokala och globala intressenter.
• Ansvara för Active Product Management (APM) aktiviteter genom projekt och initiativ i hela produktlivscykeln.
• Utveckla och förbättra produktingenjörsprocesser och arbetssätt mellan agila utvecklingsteam och tillverkningsenheter.
• Stödja R&D-team genom att säkerställa tillverkningsbarhet i produktdesignen.
• Definiera och underhåll tillverkningsrelaterade rutiner och standarder (PPAP, Tool Management, Direct Cost Definition).
• Säkra tydligt ägarskap och ansvar inom teamet samt leverera resultat.

Your Role And Responsibilities

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the center of the action. You will work closely with teams across the organization, coordinating activities ranging from product introductions and phase-outs to continuous improvement projects and cost-saving initiatives. In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring that projects progress efficiently and deliver results.

You will join the Product Engineering team and report to the Product Engineering Manager, becoming part of the Smart Power organization in Västerås, Sweden. The unit is part of ABB Electrification and is responsible for developing, manufacturing, marketing, and selling low-voltage products for which ABB has global responsibility. These products include large contactors, soft starters, pilot devices, and safety products.

In this role, you will be responsible for the industrialization of products in accordance with technical specifications throughout both the product development phase and the active product lifecycle. You will support cross-functional teams, drive implementation activities, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of processes and ways of working within the function.

• Coordinate and drive collaboration within the team, as well as with local and global stakeholders.
• Take ownership of Active Product Management (APM) activities, leading projects and initiatives throughout the product lifecycle, both before and after product release.
• Develop and continuously improve Product Engineering processes and ways of working, strengthening collaboration between agile development teams, manufacturing units, and manufacturing functions.
• Support R&D teams by ensuring manufacturability is considered throughout the product design and development process.
• Define, implement, and maintain manufacturing-related procedures and standards, including PPAP, Tool Management, and Direct Cost Definition.
• Foster clear ownership, accountability, and effective execution of activities within the team.
• Ensure a strong understanding of internal and external customer needs, driving customer value, managing expectations, and supporting high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Manage and maintain product certifications, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements and standards.
• Act as a product expert, collaborating cross-functionally to provide technical support related to product functionality, design, and industrialization.
• Drive and support product optimization initiatives, focusing on quality, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications For The Role

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
• Experience with tools such as MS Office, PPAP, DFM, DFA, and PLM
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
