Job description

We’re looking for a structured, proactive, and technically skilled Product Developer to join our Apparel Team in Åre. In this role, you will take ownership of the full development cycle of technical outdoor garments — from early prototype stages to final production handover.

You will play a key role in driving accuracy, timelines, and product quality across styles, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and factories. This is a hands‑on development role, ideal for someone who is detail‑focused, solution‑driven, and motivated by turning ideas into fully functional, high‑performance garments.

Responsibilities
  • Building, maintaining, and tracking style documentation throughout all development stages
  • Creating and continuously refining tech packs, measurement charts, and construction details
  • Managing BOMs (Bill of Materials) ensuring full accuracy and consistency
  • Driving prototype development, coordinating sample requests, and following up with suppliers
  • Reviewing samples with a critical eye on construction, fit, functionality, and quality
  • Leading and contributing to fit sessions, including measurements, evaluations, and documentation of changes
  • Managing communication with suppliers regarding timelines, sample feedback, and product improvement
  • Driving style costing throughout development, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to balance performance, quality, and target margins
  • Driving testing processes, including lab testing and field testing.
  • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date product data in PLM systems
  • Preparing and validating final product documentation for production and bulk handover
  • The position includes travelling to suppliers and factories to support product development and follow up on progress

You will report directly to the Senior Product Developer and collaborate closely with Designers, Product Developers, Material Specialists, and the Production teams to ensure product excellence from concept to production.

Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in garment product development, preferably with functional or outdoor‑focused products.
  • The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Garment Technology or Textile Product Development. We also welcome applicants with equivalent education from vocational schools or similar institutions.
  • Experience working with technical fabrics, construction techniques, and production workflows.
  • Good organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Practical knowledge of a PLM system.
  • Experience working with or communicating with suppliers and production partners.
  • Business‑level proficiency in written and oral English communication.
  • To succeed in this role, you should be curious, detail‑oriented, and solution‑focused, with a strong ability to understand the purpose and intent behind each product.
What Klättermusen is offering

  • Long‑term growth in a premium technical outdoor brand with global reach
  • A fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment with a high level of responsibility
  • Exposure to international sourcing, suppliers, and advanced material innovation
  • A workplace rooted in the outdoors — Åre offers both work and inspiration
  • Field testing involvement aligned with our core philosophy: “Maximum safety for you, minimum impact on nature.”
